The Allen-Bradley 22C-D022N103 PowerFlex 400 Adjustable Frequency Drive (AFD) is an AC drive of Frame Size C, which uses three-phase AC input power. Like all dries in the PowerFlex 400 range, the 22C-D022N103 runs on input power of 380 Volts to 480 Volts AC at a power rating of 11 kilowatts or 15 Horsepower. This drive has a nominal 3-phase voltage 480 Volts, and its output current rating is 22 Amperes. This is a very economical drive unit intended primarily for controlling pumps and fans in applications which require variable torque. The Allen-Bradley 22C-D022N103 PowerFlex 400 Adjustable Frequency Drive has a variety of features that enable rapid and flexible integration with building and production systems.

Along with its Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen, the Allen-Bradley 22C-D022N103 PowerFlex 400 Adjustable Frequency Drive has a built-in keypad which has the standard dual 16-character lines for displaying operator prompts, fault codes, and system status outputs. The Allen-Bradley 22C-D022N103 PowerFlex 400 Adjustable Frequency Drive also possess has an integral Auxiliary Motor Control which permits its user to operate as many as three extra line-started motors, in addition to the installed directly-operated motor. With this feature engaged, the PID will use a feedback and reference as a way of adjusting the drive-controlled motor’s speed. If this first motor’s capacity cannot meet the needed demand, the Auxiliary Motor Controll automatically starts one of the additional motors. If demand continues to escalate, this process will continue starting further motors until the demand has been met or all motors are running at maximum output.

Auxiliary Motor Control is an incorporated feature of the 22C-D022N103 variable frequency AC Drive that permits the functioning of up to three (3) extra line-started motors. When this feature is activated, the PID uses a feedback and reference signal to modify the speed of the drive-controlling motor. When the capacity of the original motor is insufficient to match the product demand, the driving controller initiates an auxiliary motor. If demand continues to rise, more motors will be started until the need is fulfilled. When demand falls, an auxiliary motor is turned off and the PowerFlex auxiliary function increases the drive-controlled motor speed. The IP20, NEMA/UL open-type enclosure of the 22C-D022N103 module allows for standard placement inside or outside a control box in a 45-degree Celsius ambient temperature zone. With an extra protective surface and optional conduit box kits, this may be modified to an IP30, NEMA/UL Type 1 enclosure. The UL Plenum rating, which enables direct attachment into an air handling system, increases the flexibility of this module's installation.

The 22C-D022N103 is specifically designed for use with industrial fan and pump applications, which are popular in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, water and water use, power plant, mining, manufacturing, and a variety of other sectors. This device provides modulating speed control by adjusting frequency and maintaining proportionality with the voltage, resulting in a variable speed with constant torque output. The temperature of the air surrounding this AC drive should range from -10 to +45 degrees Celsius. When storing this device, the temperature should range from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.
