The state-of-the-art PowerFlex 525 series 25B-B017N104 AC drive is designed to maximize the system performance and productivity. The drive has a removable MOV for grounding which provides smooth operation when used on ungrounded distribution systems. The relay pre-charge inhibits the inrush current and the integral brake transistor is capable of dynamic braking using a simple low cost brake resistor system. There is a jumper switch between 24 Volts DC sink or source control for wiring flexibility. A quiet operation is achieved by the adjustable PWM frequency up to 16 kHz. The drive has embedded EtherNet/IP port that enables easy setup, control, and data acquisition over the network. The dual port EtherNet/IP optional card can help with fault-tolerant connectivity for increased reliability using the Device LevelRing (DLR) topologies. The integral RS485/DSI communications are implemented in a multi-drop network.

The local position control includes an eight position regulator with StepLogic. The outer position control loop has an analog input bipolar mode that provides improved zero-cross performance and simple motion control for more complex position profiles. The drive has a standard Safe Torque-Off safety feature in order to protect personnel and equipment. This lets the user restart the system quicker after a trip due to safety alarm. The rotational power is removed without powering down the drive. This feature reduces wiring and saves installation space. It also meets ISO 13849-1 standard and is rated for SIL 2/PLd. The drive has a plug-and-play capability through the USB connection. The AppView tool is used for most of the common functions. Specialized tasks can be done with the CustomView tool. It also works with PowerFlex drives, Micro800 controllers, and PanelView component graphic terminals.

It comes with an embedded Ethernet/IP communication port.It should be supplied with 240 volts of alternating current (AC) at 3-phases. This drive should be placed inside an IP20 rated, NEMA, or open type enclosure. It only supports a size B frame. It is a standard interface module. Unlike other modules, this one does not come with an EMC filter. However, if needed, users can install an external EMC filter. When it comes to installation, this drive must be either used with a DIN rail or a panel mount. There are several I/O ports on this drive, starting with seven (7) discrete outputs. It should be used with motors that come with a three (3)-phase control. It can generate an output current rating of 17.5 amperes (A). 

The 25B-B017N104 has a modular design. Thanks to this feature, it can be easily installed with industrial components. As it comes with an economizer feature, this module helps users save energy. This intuitive drive helps program parameters specific to different industrial needs. It can be operated at a maximum temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. It should not be placed in a room that drops below -20 degrees Celsius. It comes with a few safety measures built into it. There are braking transistors built into this drive.
