The terminal comes with a grayscale display screen that has a resolution of 320 x 240 and a display area of 115 x 86 mm (4.5 x 3.4 in). The display screen has a brightness that is measured at 440cd/m² (Nits) and is lit by a white LED backlight that has a minimum life of 25,000-hours at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The 2711P-B6M20A8 terminal comes with two status indicators to alert operators to irregularities. The comm indicator is a green indicator light that signals if there has been a communication error. When this light is solid and non-blinking, it means that the terminal is operating as it should. If the communication indicator is flashing, it means that there has been no communication established. If the communication light is off, it shows there is a hardware failure. The fault indicator is a red-light indicator that signals whether there have been any hardware errors. When the fault indicator is blinking, it signals that the hardware is functioning, but that the application is not loaded or is corrupted. A fault indicator with no fill means that the terminal is operating normally. Upon the terminal's startup, both of the indicators will flash on and off. The comm indicator will then continue flashing to signal the terminal's progress in the startup process. When the startup process is complete, the comm indicator remains on and is controlled by the communication driver or application. Upon startup, if both indicators remain off, then the power supply or the logic module has failed.
