The 2711P-T7C4D9 Human-Machine Interface terminal is manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the PanelView Plus 6 700 Terminal Series. It features a color active-matrix TFT display screen measuring 6. 5 inches. The 2711P-T7C4D9 HMI terminal comes with a touchscreen that serves as the primary input type with one million presses of actuation rating. This touchscreen display uses the CCFL backlight that has up to 50,000 hours of life at 25 degrees Celsius of temperature at minimum. This terminal also features an optional replaceable backlight and power consumption of 70 Watts maximum. Also, the Allen-Bradley 2711P-T7C4D9 terminal can be activated using an input power of 18 – 32 volts DC voltage, which backs up the two USB host ports for external storage devices. The ports are used for connection of a printer, keyboard, USB flash drive, or the mouse to the terminal.
The Allen-Bradley 2711P-T7C4D9 terminal comes with an Ethernet as well as RS-232 ports to be embedded on the PanelView device to enhance communication, data storage, and printing using a 2711-NC13 communication cable. The 2711P-T7C4D9 terminal has approximated measurements of 7.04 x 9.68 x 2.18 inches, RAM of 512 megabytes, and non-volatile memory of 512 megabytes as well as about 72 megabytes of free user memory.
The 2711P-T7C4D9 operator terminal can use SD cards and flash drives for additional storage. An SD card can provide the terminal with extra storage when it is inserted into the designated SD card slot. The slot is accessible from either the inside or from the back of the panel in which the 2711P-T7C4D9 is installed. The SD cards are hot-swappable, so they can be inserted and removed while the terminal is operating. Before insertion, operators should note whether the SD card is locked or unlocked. A locked card means that the terminal is able to read data from the card. An unlocked SD card means that the terminal can write data on the card, in addition to being able to read data from the card. When using the communication ports, make sure to route all communication cables to the terminal on a separate path from incoming power. Power and communication lines should cross at right angles if they must cross. Communication cables should not be connected or disconnected to the 2711P-T7C4D9 if power is being applied to the terminal. The terminal comes with an earth/ground terminal that must be connected to a low-impedance earth/ground since the unit is DC powered. This earth/ground connection is located on the rear of the display module. The earth/ground wire should be secured to the functional earth screw that is also located on the back of the display module. The earth/ground connection is mandatory as it is required for the terminal to follow safety regulations.
