The 1746-NI4 is an SLC 500 4-Channel Analog Input Module with four user-selectable analog channels for current or voltage to enhance multiple monitoring as well as control of applications. This module has a 16-bit resolution along with a removable terminal block which offers connections analog input channel. The channel allows the user to connect either as single or differential input. The 1746-NI4 module features a DIP that turns on the circuit board to choose current or input voltage. The backplane current of this module at 5 volts is 25 milliamps and 85 milliamps at 24 volts. Precaution should be taken to avoid connecting to the voltage source with no transmitter current to a channel that configured for current input. Otherwise, module damage or incorrect module operation may occur. Allen Bradley 1746-NI4 Analog Input Module features standard cable lengths measuring 0.5 meters, 1 meter, 2.5 meters, and 5.0 meters. The module has a 15-pin D-shell AIFM Connector and a nominal current loop input range of ±20 milliamps and a maximum of ±30 milliamps. It has an input impedance of 250 Ohms with 1.22070 μA per LSB resolution. It comes with an approximate gain error drift of ±67 ppm/degrees Celsius with an overall accuracy of 25 degrees Celsius. The overall accuracy drift of the module is +79 ppm/degree Celsius full-scale. Allen Bradley 1746-NI4 module has a voltage input range of ±10 Volts DC -1 LSB, with an impedance of 1 ohm. The full-scale accuracy drift of this module is +63 ppm/ degrees Celsius. It also features a resolution of 305.176 μV per LSB, with ±57 ppm/degree Celsius gain error drift.

The 1746-NI4 SLC 500 4-channel analog I/O module from Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation has a repeatability rating of plus or minus (+/-) 1 LSB, as well as a non-linearity rating of 0.01%. The common mode voltage range of the Allen Bradley 1746-NI4 is -20 to 20 volts. The minimum common mode rejection of this device at 0 to 10 hertz is 50 decibels (dB), while the minimum common mode rejection at 60 hertz is 105 decibels (dB). The 1746-NI4 module also has a minimum normal mode rejection of 55 decibels (dB) at 60 hertz. The channel bandwidth of this device is 10 hertz. This module has a step response rating of 60 milliseconds at 95%. The field wiring to backplane isolation rating of this Allen Bradley module is 500 volts direct current (DC). The recommended cable to use with this module is a Shielded Belden #8761. Additionally, this module supports a maximum wire size of 14 American Wire Gauge (AWG). The Allen Bradley 1746-NI4 SLC 500 4-channel analog I/O module is capable of being installed on a Bulletin 1746 I/O chassis. This module should be operated within an environment where the temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. When storing this device, it should be place in an area where the temperature ranges from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, or -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
