The Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller 1747-L30A comes with an integrated power supply and can be expanded with two slots. There are eighteen 120 volts AC and twelve AC/DC relays. These can be increased using the additional chassis up to sixty four. Based on the power supply, the maximum turn-on time of the controller is 35 milliseconds and the maximum turn-off time is 45 milliseconds. The controller requires 85 to 265 volt AC at 47 to 63 Hz resulting in about 0.27 Watts per point. The inrush rating is 30 Amperes. The wire size used is #14 AWG maximum which provides an I/O electrical/optical isolation of 1500 V AC at 60 seconds. The controller memory has an optional recovery system of EEPROM or UVPROM. The internal memory of this processor uses a capacitor. The processor memory can use up to one thousand use programs with a scan time of 8 milliseconds and bit execution speed of 4 microseconds.

The scan time can increase with the program complexity. The program hold-up time in case of power loss is 20 to 700 milliseconds. The installation hardware is modular where the chassis can be installed to a mounting plate inside an enclosure. Grounding is required to be completed for safe operation of the system. Generally, NEMA rated enclosures and forced air circulation are used. The weight of the unit is about 0.37 lbs. and dimensions are 5.72 x 1.37 x 5.15 inches. The allowable operating temperature is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and the storage temperature range is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

The Allen-Bradley 1747-L30A has a typical battery life of five (5) years. The twenty-four (24) volt direct current user power output current is 200 milliamperes. Additionally, the twenty-four (24) volt direct current user power output voltage ranges from 20.4 to 27.6 volts DC (direct current), or 24 (twenty-four) volts DC plus or minus fifteen (15) percent. The vibration statistics are also something to take note of. These statistics involve this device's displacement, acceleration, and duration. The displacement of the device is 0.015 inch, peak-to-peak at a frequency range of five (5) to fifty-seven (57) Hz (hertz). The acceleration of this device in terms of vibration is 2.5 Gs at a frequency of fifty-seven (57) to two thousand (2000) hertz. The duration of this device's vibration is one (1) hour per axis, on the x, y, and z axes. Another thing to note, when storing the Allen-Bradley 1747-L30A, be aware that the relative humidity range should be five (5) percent to ninety-five (95) percent without condensation.

The line power of this Programmable Logic Controller ranges from one hundred and twenty (120) volts alternating current to two hundred and forty (240) volt alternating current. The I/O Configuration for this device is one hundred and twenty (120) volts alternating current input and an AC/DC relay output. This device does not have a high-speed counter. This device is equipped with LED indicators. These indicators read as the following: "power," "PC run," "CPU fault," "forced I/O,' and "battery low." This product has 0.27 watts per point, with a minimum wattage of 12.7 and a maximum wattage of 19.2.
