The ControlLogix 1756-HYD02 Hydraulic Servo module is used to precisely position and operate a hydraulic cylinder. This module is is capable of connecting to a hydraulic system for the purposes of closing a high-speed position loop. For hydraulic axis control, this device can be attached to an LDT, or linear displacement transducer, for feedback and a proportional or servo valve. Up to sixteen (16) 1756-HYD02 modules can be supported by each Logix controller. This module has the ability to control a maximum of two (2) axes. It has a feed-forward PID control with differential scaling. It offers 32 bits floating point resolution with LDT counts of 230,000 of absolute position range. It comes with a selectable frequency rate of 500 hertz (Hz) to 4 kilohertz (kHz).
The 1756-HYD02 module uses the LDT input to monitor position feedback and provide an analog command reference for the valve, ensuring that the actuator cylinder maintains the profile. It outputs a +/-10 volts analog output velocity command and closes the position loop at a specified rate using position feedback as the input. Its output has a voltage resolution of 16 bits. It is sensitive to electrostatic discharge. This device is housed in a ControlLogix chassis and connects all field wiring with a replaceable terminal block. This module is powered by the chassis power supply 1756 and requires two (2) backplane power sources: 700 milliamperes at 5.1 volts and 2.5 milliamperes at 24 volts. It dissipates 5.5 watts maximum. It employs a single bi-colored LED to represent module OK status, as well as bi-colored LED indicators for both axes to provide individual feedback and drive status.
