The Allen-Bradley 1756-L7SP is a Safety Controller Module that offers a higher safety and security level of an industrial system. This GuardLogix module supports five hundred (500) controller links. The device contains an SD card slot to provide non-volatile memory. The unit includes a USB port. This device has a slot width of two and can be mounted to the right of the principal controller at any slot of the 1756 chassis. This safety partner device includes a LED indicator “OK” that shows the electrical power presence and the communication status. The module is conceived with an open-style enclosure. The ControlLogix module draws a backplane current of 5 milliamperes at a voltage of 1.2 Volts DC and a backplane current of 800 milliamperes at a voltage of 5.1 Volts DC.

The 1756-L7SP dissipates a power heat of 2.5 Watts and provides a thermal dissipation of 8.5 British Thermal Units (BTU) per hour. This safety partner module supports a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5% to 95% and a vibration frequency range from 10 to 500 Hertz. The 1756-L7SP can be stored in a safe environment that shouldn’t be full of condensation or corrosive at a temperature from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 degrees to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The safety module offers voltage isolation of 30 Volts.
