The 1788-ENBT is an Ethernet/IP Module that is branded and manufactured by Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation. This Ethernet/IP communication module supports messaging, produced/consumed tags, and distributed I/O. It also is able to encapsulate messages within standard TCP/UDP/IP protocol and share common application layer with ControlNet and DeviceNet protocols. The 1788-ENBT can interface via RJ-45, category 5, unshielded, twisted-pair cable and supports half/full duplex 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps operation. The 1788-ENBT requires no network scheduling and no routing tables. The 1788-ENBT module operates as an interface for a FlexLogix and DriveLogix controller to communicate with other devices over an Ethernet/IP network. It supports control of I/O, communication via produced/consumed tags and MSG instructions, communication with HMI, configuration and programming (such as upload and download) and can be used as a web server to provide diagnostic and status information.
