The 1791-24B8 is an I/O module made by Allen-Bradley. It is included in the Bulletin 1791 Block I/O series. This module features 3 groups of 8 inputs, as well as 1 group of 8 outputs. The supported input voltage range, as well as the output voltage range, is between 10 volts and 30 volts DC. The maximum on-state current of this device is 11 milliamperes at 30 volts and the minimum on-state current is 2.5 milliamperes at 10 volts. The module is protected internally by an integrated fuse. The I/O outputs are not fused. The remote I/O link connection requires a Belden 9463 cable. The input and output wiring requires up to a 14 AWG (2 mm²) stranded cable with a 3/64-inch insulation. The dimensions of this module are 6.95 inches x 4.35 inches x 3.85 inches, or the equivalent of 176.5 millimeters x 110.5 millimeters x 98 millimeters. While this module can be mounted horizontally, it is recommended to be mounted in a vertical orientation. When the module is mounted vertically, the output current rating is 500 milliamperes at 60 degrees Celsius and 1 ampere at 30 degrees Celsius. Horizontal mounting reduces the output current rating to 250 milliamperes at 60 degrees Celsius and 500 milliamperes at 30 degrees Celsius. When mounting this module, care must be taken to ensure that an air gap of at least 2 inches (50.8 millimeters) is present on all four sides in order to allow for adequate ventilation. The operating temperature should be less than 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius).
