The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4M adjustable frequency drive 22F-D4P2N103 has a voltage rating of 480 Volts AC, 3-phase, and the corresponding current rating is 4.2 Amperes with power of 1.5 kilowatts (2 horsepower). The enclosure is open type and there is a fixed keypad for human interfacing. It does not have any EMC filtering or IGBT braking. The drive is the most compact and economical option and a great solution for machine level speed control. Its keypad has potentiometer and control keys that offer easy usage right from the first time. The drive comes pre loaded with the 12 most popular and convenient application parameters in a Basic Programming Group which helps the user achieve quick setup. The user is also benefitted from familiarity with the programming keys that are uniform across the whole PowerFlex drive family. The four digit display in combination with 10 LED indicators communicate efficiently and provide an easy to understand interface to the operator. The drive has an in-built RS-485 communication port that can also be used for programming by connecting to a PC. It also allows the drive to be used in a multi-drop network configuration. DF1 connection can be used with a serial port converter module. The drive protects the motor with its feature allowing fo a 150% overload for 60 seconds and 200% overload for 3 seconds. Its control method is volts per hertz and drive can compensate for auto boost and slip. The adjustable PWM frequency of up to 10 kiloHertz offers the ability for quiet operation. The drive has a DIP switch to select between 24 Volts DC sink or source control.

The 22F-D4P2N103 should be installed with a B shape frame. It supports only one control method, being the volts/hertz control performance. It must be installed with branch circuit protection elements. It is important to use a fuse with a 10-ampere rating with this drive. To complete the protection circuit, users need to use both motor protectors and 100-C09 contactors. At 50 to 60 hertz, this drive requires 480 volts of input current at 3 phases. The power consumption rating for this drive is 4.2 amperes. It can produce a horsepower of 2.0 Hp. It can be installed with either a rain mounting or with a panel mounting option. The IP20 enclosure provides this drive from corrosive components as big as 12 millimeters in size. For controlling, and programming this module users can use the built-in digital keypad. The display can show four (4) digits at once. There are a total of ten (10) different indicators to show the different statuses of the drive. Users can perform multi-drop configuration using the RS-485 port. This process can also be used for configuring the drive using a personal computer. 

The 22F-D4P2N103 supports both panel mounting and DIN rail mounting. For ease in installation, and programming, users have access to the program keys. This drive can give slip compensation, and V/Hz control. Due to the zero stack feature, users can save adequate space. To avoid power surges, this drive includes settable/programmable DIP switches and relay pre-charge features. Users also get ramp regulation protection and drive overload protection.
