Allen-Bradley’s 1746-IV8 is an 8-channel DC digital input module. The voltage rating of the module lies at 24V DC. It is a general purpose input module with a wide range of industrial applications. The operating voltage of the module ranges from 10 to 30 VDC. The source input is sink load. Special features for the 1746-IV8 input module include off-state maximum current rating of 1 milliampere, 8-channel input, and self-lifting terminal plate. It has a backplane current load of 50 milliamperes at 5 Volts and is part of the SLC 500 digital module series. The 1746-IV8 includes LED indicators for status updates and features two (2) #14 AWG cables. For both on and off states, the maximum signal delay is 8 milliseconds.

The 1746-IV8 digital input module has a power rating of 0.2 Watts per point. The minimum thermal dissipation limits to 0.25 Watts and the maximum thermal dissipation limits to 1.9 Watts.
