This Allen Bradley 1756-IB16S module is a digital safety module, and it is designed for the ControlLogix and GuardLogix line of products. This digital safety module can also be used in Logix 5000 control systems, but it is compatible only with the Allen-Bradley 1756 ControlLogix Chassis from Series C. The GuardLogix controllers from Allen-Bradley use the 1756-IB16S digital safety input/output module to control devices connected to the GuardLogix control system. This input/output digital safety module is available with 16 sinking inputs. The operating range of voltage is between 18 to 32 VDC. The 1756-IB16S safety module also supports the 1756 Backplane communication protocol. This Allen-Bradley digital safety input/output module is specially designed for operating in single-channel mode. The module is fixed in a single channel set up during operation mode, and all inputs on the module are pre-configured. This 1756-IB16S digital safety input/output module status signal is evaluated from the input channel and is used to activate safety input data. This is the commonly used digital safety module to ensure the safe operation of ControlLogix & GuardLogix control systems. This device returns both general fault data and safety input data to the operator for review.
