This GuardLogix module with the part number 1756-L84ES was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device has twenty (20) megabytes (MB) of user memory and six (6) megabytes (MB) of safety memory. The module also includes a two (2) Gigabyte (GB) non-volatile memory storage option. This Allen Bradley device can accommodate up to two hundred and fifty (250) nodes. The 1756-L84ES can complete thirty-one (31) standard tasks and one (1) safety task, with each task capable of running a thousand (1,000) programs. This controller also includes a USB 2.0 Type B port, as well as an embedded Ethernet port and the USB port has a communication speed of twelve (12) megabits per second (Mbps), whereas the Ethernet port has a communication speed ranging from 10 to1000 megabits per second (Mbps).

Communication options for this module include Ethernet/IP, along with ControlNet, DeviceNet and Data Highway Plus and Remote Input or Output, SynchLink and Third party processes device networks. The energy storage module is built into the controller and cannot be removed.
