This module is compatible with expansion modules from the MicroLogix line of products. It is a type of partner module. It features eight (8) analog current or voltage output channels. This module can be utilized with any expansion module from the 1762 series. This module can work smoothly with MicroLogix processors, especially the MicroLogix 1100/ 1200 / 1400 PLCs. There are several native expansion modules on this expansion module from Allen-Bradley.

Expansion modules from the 1762 analog modules come with a maximum of four output channels.  On the other hand, the 1762sc-OF8 comes with eight (8) output channels. Thanks to these channels, this module can be used to modulate multiple connected devices. Each of the output channels on this module supports both voltage and current signals. The configurable voltages supported by this module are 1-5 volts, 0-5 volts, 0-10 volts, and ±10 volts. The configurable current rating for this analog module is 0 to 20 milliamperes and 4 to 20 milliamperes. 

The resolution rating on this analog module is 160 bits. Users can program this module to support a wide number of formats including the engineering units, PID, raw count, and percent of range. Just like the inputs, the analog outputs on this module support both current, and voltage. This module starts by converting the digital output command to analog voltage or current signal. Users can configure the different output channels separately based on the data format and the type of output. For a layer of safety, this module comes with both short circuit and open circuit error detection. As soon as it detects any errors, it will indicate them using the LEDs.
