The 1771-IA2 is a digital AC/DC input module made by Allen-Bradley. This module is included in the PLC-5 control system series and has 8 inputs available. It operates on 120 volt AC/DC and has an operating voltage range between 87 and 138 volts AC or 97 to 138 volts DC. It has eight orange status indicators on the front panel that provide field side indications. Each indicator illuminates when the respective terminal is receiving input. The module transfers the data to the processor via the backplane. The keying band specification for this module is between pin 10 and pin 12 for the upper connector. The lower connector should be between pin 4 and pin 6. This module has a typical signal delay time of 24 milliseconds for AC signals off-to-on as well as on-to-off. The input signal delay for DC signals is 10 milliseconds for off-to-on and 20 milliseconds for on-to-off. The 1771-IA2 module has a maximum power dissipation rating of 10.7 watts and is rated for maximum thermal dissipation of 36.5 BTU per hour. The supported field wiring arm has the model number 1771-WA and the wiring arm torque is 7-9 inch-pounds. This module is certified in Class 1, Division 2 by CSA, is UL listed, and CE marked. The normal operating temperature range is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). This module is rated for operation in relative humidity ranging from 5 percent to 95 percent, without condensation.
