The 1771-TCM is a temperature control module that was designed by the company known as Allen-Bradley. The primary purpose of this temperature control module is to control temperature control loops. The Allen-Bradley 1771-TCM is equipped with eight (8) individually isolated PID loops. This Allen-Bradley product is compatible with Thermocouple types B, E, J, K, R, S, and T. The input range of this device is selectable as each Thermocouple type is different. However, the input voltage range will always be one hundred and five (105) millivolts (mV). The A/D resolution of this unit is sixteen (16) bits or fifteen (15) bits plus sign bit. This product was designed to withstand one thousand (1000) volts direct current (DC) continuous between the input channels and the backplane connections. 

The Allen-Bradley has multiple backplane current loads. The steady-state maximum backplane current load is 1.1 amperes, while the surge at power turn-on is 1.5 amperes. The maximum input resolution of this device is 3.3 micro volts per bit at fifteen (15) bits with sign bit. The maximum offset drift is +0.50 micro volt per degree Celsius and the maximum gain drift is +35 ppm/°C. The underrange threshold of this device is -103.0 millivolts (mV), while the overrange threshold is +103.0 millivolts (mV).

A temperature range of 0 - 60 degrees Celsius should be kept to ensure this Allen-Bradley product operates correctly. When storing this device, however, a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius should be kept. The relative humidity of the surrounding area should always be within the range of 5% to 95% without condensation. This Allen-Bradley product weighs approximately 0.8 kilograms.
