The 1794-IM16 is a Flex IO device with 16-discrete 240V AC input channels that are not isolated. This component is a DIN rail-mounted piece of hardware that can be used to connect field and signaling instruments that operate on the same 240V AC power supply. It would be used in conjunction with FlexLogix controllers 1794-L33 and L34, or it can be paired with any 1794 Flex IO adapter module to form part of a distributed IO application. The 1794-TBN and 1794-TBNK terminal bases are interchangeable.
This module's electrical specifications include a minimum and maximum on-state voltage of 159 volts AC and 264 volts AC, respectively, with a nominal on-state voltage of 240 volts AC. The present On-state rating is 5.30 mA with a maximum of 13.29 mA. In contrast, the off-state voltage is 40V AC and the off-state current is 2.6 mA. The nominal input impedance and current are 22.2 kiloohms and 11 milliamps at 240 volts AC, respectively. Individual isolation is not provided for the channels. This module necessitates a flex bus current of 32 milliamps at 5 volts DC, a power dissipation of 6 watts at 264 volts AC, and thermal dissipation of 20.47 BTU/hr. at a 264 volts AC.
This module permits removal while powered on. However, use care since disconnecting or reconnecting the module while powered on may cause electrical arcs that are damaging not only to the device, but also to the whole FlexBus and surrounding modules. It is nevertheless strongly advised to do this action while the module is not powered on.
