The SST-PFB-SLC is a ProfiBus network scanner device, and it is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. for the SLC 500 controllers. The SST-PFB-SLC scanner can be connected to the series SLC 5/03 or the later processors to ProfiBus DP master devices, DP slave devices, or FDL devices on the ProfiBus network. This scanner can work as a remote input/output scanner which is capable of scanning up to 96 input/output slave devices. This scanner supports the user up to the level of 244 bytes of input/output data per slave device. This capacity can be expandable for the input data of 1000 words and the output data of 128 words using SST ProfiBus configuration tools. This scanner can be installed in any input/output slot in the SLC rack except slot 0. If required, multiple scanners can be installed on the same rack. This Allen-Bradley scanner supports all standard ProfiBus baud rates including 9600 baud, 19.2 kbaud, 93.75 kbaud, 187.5 kbaud, 500 kbaud, 750 kbaud, 1.5 Mbaud, 3 Mbaud, 6 Mbaud, and 12 Mbaud. In this device, it is easy to configure any input/output device on the DP network with the help of the SST ProfiBus tool. This SST configured data and files can be moved to this scanner module's memory through the communication port with the help of Xmodem transfer. This scanner module comes with onboard flash memory for saving the files and the user can eliminate re-configuration. This scanner device has a maximum backplane current of 700 mA (milliamps) at 5 volts DC.
