The GE Fanuc Emerson IC670GBI102 is a field control bus interface unit that offers a terminal block current of 16 milliamperes and reliability of 600,000 hours. This BIU offers 127 bytes of both network inputs and outputs per bus scan. The IC670GBI102 consumes a power of 48 Volt-amperes at 115 Volts AC and 24 Watts at 125 Volts AC at full load. This unit has an inrush current of 20 Amperes within a short time of 3 milliseconds. The BIU supports either AC or DC power supply with an output voltage of 6.5 Volts DC. The IC670GBI102 supports an input voltage range either from 105 Volts DC to 150 Volts DC or from 90 Volts AC to 135 Volts AC at a frequency range from 47 to 63 Hertz. This unit has a holdup time of 20 milliseconds and can be easily mounted on a DIN rail.

This BIU can be employed to monitor host architectures with either a single or dual bus architecture. The unit contains LED indicators to show the module status and the presence of electrical power. It contains a 9 pin sub-D connector to link a terminal or a display monitor. The interface module has a torque of 9 newton-meters and can connect eight (8) I/O modules. This module contains a metal grounding strip at the bottom of the terminal block. The IC670GBI102 weighs approximately 640 grams (1.41 pounds) while shipping and operates at zero (0) to 55 degrees Celsius (32 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.

The IC670GBI102 by GE Fanuc is a bus interface unit. This is one of the three field control modules. The main function of this interface unit is to help interface different input/output modules via a genius bus to any host computer or a programmable logic controller. It also supports datagram communication and can scan 128 bytes of input and output data separately. The nominal rated voltage for this unit is 115 Volts AC and 125 Volts DC. This module is small in size with four display LEDs that indicate the status of the module. The PWR LED shows if power is available, OK light shows that power diagnostic tests have been passed, RUN indicates that the output module has BIU configuration and lastly BUS B indicates if the current active bus is BUS B. There is also a HHM connector present at the front side. This interface is mounted using panel mounting on DIN Rail. For grounding, there is a metal strip present underneath the terminal block. The IC670GBI102 supports hot insertion/removal of modules in the I/O station. This module is to be operated at a temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius for accurate operation and the relative humidity range of the interface module should be 5 to 95% (non-condensing). Although small is size, this module is resistant and sturdy and can withstand vibrations and shock. It is perfect for industrial applications in industrial environments.
