The GE Fanuc IC660BBA101 is an RTD (resistance temperature detector) input block. It has a 115 volts alternating current (AC)/125 volts direct current (DC) rated voltage. This block's purpose is to keep track of the temperature from the connected RTDs. 15 volts AC/125 volts DC RTD IC660BBA101 and 24/48 volts DC RTD Block IC660BBA are two types of RTD available. The power supply is the only variation between the two. Temperature fluctuations as little as one-tenth of a degree are detected by the IC660BBA101.
The six RTD compatible inputs are grouped in three groups of two inputs each piece, which is a key feature. The input sets are totally separate and self-contained. RTDs consisting of platinum, copper, or nickel are employed with these independent input circuit inputs This module, like the other RTD Blocks from the same series, is self-regulating. The A/D converter is switched between reference resistors and RTDs using a multiplexer. The IC660BBA101 block measures the resistance between 0 and 5,000 ohms.
A handheld monitor is needed to configure the block. After the configuration is complete, it can record temperature data in all scales starting with Celsius, Fahrenheit, Ohms, and other counts. The IC66HHM501D is backward compatible with the IC660BBA101 block and can be used in block setup and control as well. The input filter time, linearization, alpha type, RTD resistance, and alarm thresholds are all customizable in this block.
It warns the user if the calibration readings are too high or if the RTD and terminal assembly connections are wrong. Faults are communicated to the CPU and the portable monitor. The user can, however, design the block circuit by circuit to alert the portable monitor to defects. Most fault circumstances do not require clearing since they rarely disrupt block functions. Before detection may resume, the user must clean the alarm faults (High or Low).
