The IC200MDD849 Module by GE Fanuc is a discrete input/output module. It belongs to the VersaMax family of products and is widely used in many different industrial applications. The module has the ability to provide eight discrete inputs. These inputs can either be positive logic inputs or sourcing type inputs that receive current from AC devices. There are eight relay outputs that have the ability to drive 2 A load per output. These are form-A type outputs and produce output logic bit 1 when the host central processing unit is in active mode. The relay type in this module is fixed coil and moving armature and the contacts are silver alloy material contacts. The CPU or NIU is responsible for the intelligent processing in the module. This module is powered by the backplane whereas loads have to be powered externally. The module draws a maximum current of 295 mA and does not support thermal derating. The input voltage is from 0 to 132 VAC at a frequency of 47 to 63 hertz. The nominal input voltage for this module is 120 V. There are different LEDs present for status indication of both input and output points. The OK LEDs are turned on when the module is properly powered. The module is to be installed by following all installation guidelines accurately so that proper results can be achieved. It is to be kept in mind that important protection features such as fuses and snubbers are not available in this particular model.
