The Horner HE693THM166 is a high-density thermocouple input module that has sixteen (16) channels. These inputs permit the direct connection between the PLC and temperature sensors without the need for external signal processing such as transmitters and transducers. The HE693THM166 analog and digital processing are done inside the module. This module offers a temperature resolution of either 0.5 degrees Celsius or 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The HE693THM166 can detect the issue due to the open circuit. The thermocouple input module includes a thirty-two (32) removable terminal block that is employed for the field wiring using a wire with a cross-section area of 0.205 square millimeters (24 AWG). This module supports the integrating A/D conversion type with a conversion time of forty (40) channels per second.

The module inputs support J, K, T, E, R, S, B, X, N, or C thermocouple type. This module draws a current of 100 milliamperes at a voltage of +5 Volts DC. The HE693THM166 has an input impedance of 20 megaohms. This module supports a voltage range from -12 Volts DC to 12 Volts DC with a maximum overload voltage range from -35 Volts DC to 35 Volts DC. The thermocouple input module offers an accuracy of ± 0.5 degrees Celsius (32.9) degrees Fahrenheit. This thermocouple module can be employed with Series 90-30 PLCs.
