Input Power Conditioning:

1336 Adjustable Frequency AC Drives are manufactured to be directly connected to a correctly rated, 3-phase AC power line. Though, power line conditions can lead to input power element malfunctions. To prevent these issues, a transformer which an isolation type may be mandatory. The need for a transformer is determined by the presence of power factor correction capacitors in the AC line, and the frequency of transient power interruptions or significant voltage spikes. These drives feature an MOV (a short form of metal oxide varistor) circuit that allows for surge suppression, but it is not designed for constant operation. In an improperly grounded distribution network, the phase-to-ground link of the MOV (metal oxide varistor) might become a nonstop current pathway to the ground, leading to potential damage. To prevent this, line-to-ground and line-to-line voltages must not surpass specified MOV ratings.

Essential Control Inputs:

Five control inputs are needed to operate the 1336 drive:

  • The start push button on the control panel, the operator-supplied N.O. contact, or a start push button connected to the optional Logic Interface Board or Remote I/O Interface Board are all examples of "True" inputs that can be used to start the drive.

The control panel, the G2 Remote I/O Interface Board, or the L1, L2, or L3 Logic Interface Board are all options for these optional inputs.
